These tiny clams are excellent filter feeders for your display tamk or in you refugium/sump. They are also an excellent source of food and nutrients for your fish or invertebrates.

I have collected these personally from the Florida Keys and they are prevelant in some of my aquariums containing fish. There has never been an issue of toxic releases or fish suffering death from a distasteful nibble. They are excellant diatom and other nuisance algae. Large numbers of protruding, hooked anchor ossicles in the body wall give the animal the ability to adhere to surfaces in a manner similar to Velcro. Individuals feel sticky and are often found clinging to the neoprene surfaces of wet suits and dive booties after wading or snorkeling through a seagrass bed. Most of the crrent stock is about 1"-1.5" long.

Caribbean Blue Leg Hermits make excellent scavengers. They will eat filamentous algae and cyanobacteria. These little crabs are very active and beautiful. Same price we sold them for 10 years ago. Get them while they last.

Caprellidae is a family of amphipods commonly known as skeleton shrimps. Their common name denotes the threadlike slender body which allows them to virtually disappear among the fine filaments of seaweed, hydroids and bryozoans.Caprellids are exclusively marine and are found in oceans worldwide. A few species are found in the ocean depths, but most prefer low intertidal zones and subtidal waters among eelgrass, hydroids and bryozoans. They are typically seen attached to substrate by their grasping appendages called the pereopods. Caprellids are omnivorous, feeding on diatoms, detritus, protozoans, smaller amphipods, and crustacean larvae. Some species are filter feeders, using their antennae to filter food from the water or scrape it off the substrate. Most species are predators that sit and wait like a praying mantis, with their gnathopods ready to snatch any smaller invertebrates which come along.
