"Star Grass," a splendid, dainty-looking little plant can be planted near the surface or in shallow substrate.   It can be difficult to find at times, so get it while it's available.

Very unique sea grass. Paddle Grass. We have a limited amount and we collect it from the Indian River about an hour south of our location. This grass, like the Johnson's Grass is a very small and delicate grass. It's average height is 1.5" tall. The leaves grow one per stem. the stems grow from the root 'runner'. This portion is $12.49 for 6 stems with leaves. 

Widgeon grass grows in a tremendous range of salinities, including fresh, brackish and saline waters. It has been observed in Baffin Bay, Texas at salinities exceeding 100. Ruppia is generally found in the soft sediments of wind-protected lagoons and bays. This species closely resembles shoal grass but can be distinguished at maturity by its morphology. Widgeon grass has multiple slender, threadlike blades that protrude in an alternating fashion along the stem. These blades appear bushy and fan-like. Root and rhizome structures do not form thick, extensive mats making them easy to uproot.
